I don’t usually insert someone else’s video into my blog, but I can relate to this athlete who ran an incredible race. I can feel the tears of joy welling inside me as I watch it. As I relate to times of trouble this metaphorically corresponds perfectly. Let me know if you like it!
And it illustrates my favorite verse, Hebrews 12:1-2:
- 1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,
- 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Thanks to Mark Wilson at http://www.revitalizeyourchurch.blogspot.com/ for the video idea!
That was so interesting to watch and so perfect an analogy to the kind of perseverance it takes to endure to the end.
Tears for me too…
